Christmas 2021
With international borders just reopening, quarantine requirements and Covid still very much at large, we decide to spend Christmas in Melbourne. We buy Noah & Sophie matching Christmas pyjamas, much to their delight. Once you become parents, all the attention seem to shift to the children on Christmas - and rightfully so. There’s something about seeing the sheer delight on your child’s faces as they rip open presents that makes it all worth it. The kids get new bikes along with a whole onslaught of presents from their aunties and uncles. We then head up to Mornington Peninsula for a road trip with family. It’s Sophie’s first time to the beach and she enjoys every minute of it.
Unfortunately our road trip is cut short as we receive a notification the next day that Noah was a close contact for Covid case in school and would need to get tested immediately and possibly have to isolate. 3 hours of waiting in the car on Boxing Day for a covid test - not exactly the type of Boxing day queue we were planning on going to, but very much thankful that it was negative so that we could continue the holiday spirit towards the New Year.
