Summer at St Kilda Beach 2024

After a week of scorching summer weather, we decided to embrace the beach, even though it’s not our usual cup of tea. With homemade chips and burgers packed, we headed down to St Kilda for a picnic. Even though we arrived at 6pm, the heat was still intense that we had to seek refuge in a shaded spot under a tree to set up our picnic.

I remember lying down on the grass, looking for interesting cloud shapes. I remember us laughing. I don’t remember much else but I remember the feeling of togetherness. It turned out to be one of those rare, perfect family days—moments I hope our kids will cherish as much as I do.

As the sun began to set around 7pm, the temperature finally cooled down enough for us to venture out to the beach. The kids were soon engrossed in playing in the water and building sandcastles, their tiny voices mingling with the gentle sound of the waves. Before we knew it, the sun dipped below the horizon, signaling that it was time to head back.

One for the memory books.
