Father’s Day

“I've always had the ambition of being a father who would be present with my children. One of the reasons I continued to pursue photography as a profession was so that I could have the flexibility to spend time with my kids when I eventually became a father.” - An excerpt from my interview with Home with Anette. Read the whole interview here.

2020 & 2021 haven’t been great. Business has taken a big hit - 2020 only allowed for 4 months for photography, and 2021 seems to be shaping up to be a similar scenario. The silver lining is that my role as a father has never been more prominent - it’s almost like it has been my full time job for the last 2 years. I’ve spent more time with my kids than I would have ever imagine and for that I’m grateful, especially since they are so young. Don’t get me wrong, the frustration of being in lockdown has at times revealed a version of myself as a parent I would never thought existed - an impatient, easily irritable, unkind father. But there has also have been moments of love and laughter, moments of forgiveness and tenderness, moments of light and joy - all formed during the repeated rhythms of life in lockdown. And for that, I’m thankful.
