Port Phillip Estate Wedding - Daryl & Adeline
As the new year beckons, I am reminded of this reading from Daryl & Adeline’s wedding
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” - 1 Corinthians 13:4-6
I am reminded amongst the resolutions set & goals we aim for, those declarations, the words on a page; they are just the beginning —very much like a wedding. Beyond the first looks and jubilant declarations, the journey ahead is what matters. A lived-in love. The journey that will take all that is within us so that we become more ourselves, and less of our self.
Amidst all the fights in our world, love that gives a kind of grace which is not self-seeking, not easily angered, does not delight in evil, but always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres - this is worth fighting for.
Daryl & Adeline celebrated their wedding with full of laughs and love from friends & family at Port Phillip Estate, but more importantly, it was the start of their journey together - marriage.
